Short Market Update: Markets end in green due to support form strong macros. Mutual fund folios at a record high.
Today’s market ended high. Pharma stocks and metal stocks are in red due to high selling pressure. FMCG and capital goods stocks end in green. Strong rupee and soft oil contributed to the growth of the market.
BSE Sensex is up by 373.06 points or 1.07% and closed at Rs 35,354.08, and NSE Nifty ended up by 101.85 points or 0.97% at Rs 10,628.60. BSE Mid Cap ended up by 9.55 points or 0.06% and closed at Rs 14889.89. While Small Cap Index was down by 21.75 points or 0.15% and ended at Rs 14,329.08.
Today’s top gainers were Hero Motorcop, HUL, Wipro, Axis Bank, and Asian Paints.
Biggest losers were Yes Bank, ONGC, Sun Pharma, Coal India, and Dr. Reddys Labs.
Mutual Fund folio number hit a record high
The mutual fund folios have witnessed an addition of nearly 77 lakh new folios in the first 7 months of this fiscal year, leading to an all-time high total of 8 crore folios. During this period the mutual funds have seen an inflow of over Rs 81,000 crore. Equities in this alone constitute over Rs 75,000 crore.
